FRP Grating Fixings and Pedestal Systems
Installation Hardware for Composite GratingsFixings secure an FRP grating panel to its supporting construction or join two panels of the same type. Select the clip against mesh size, fixing position and corrosion environment; select the pedestal against required floor elevation, drainage, cable routing, slope and electrical-isolation needs. Galvanized and stainless-steel clips, together with rubber, polyamide and plastic pedestal options, adapt the system to industrial floors, platforms, terraces, pool surrounds and other project details. Correct, high-strength original mounting hardware limits panel movement and supports installation quality and the system’s long-term structural integrity.
Fixing Selection Table
| Type | Main task | Compatibility and material | Selection note |
|---|---|---|---|
| M-type metal clip (saddle clip) | Secures the panel to a structural support | 38×38 mm and 50×50 mm meshes; galvanized or stainless steel; SS304/SS316 option for marine use | Standard fixing for open-mesh panels |
| C-type metal clip | Joins two adjacent panels of the same type without support below | All gratings; galvanized or stainless steel | Keeps panels level, reduces trip risk, equalises load distribution and reduces deflection |
| L-type metal clip | Secures a panel edge | All gratings; galvanized or stainless steel | Fixing to edge profiles or at walls |
| Circular clip with plastic top | Secures small-mesh panels | 19×19 mm mesh; plastic upper disc with galvanized or stainless-steel lower part | Circular contact matched to the mesh geometry |
| Circular metal clip | Secures rectangular-mesh panels | 25×50 mm mesh; galvanized or stainless steel | All-metal circular fixing |
Clip Types and Uses
M-type metal fixing
The M-type or saddle clip is the standard fixing for securing open-mesh panels to structural supports. It suits 38×38 mm and 50×50 mm meshes. Galvanized or stainless-steel versions are available, with SS304 or SS316 stainless steel used for maximum corrosion resistance in marine environments.

C-type metal fixing
A C-clip joins two adjacent panels of the same type without requiring support underneath. It keeps the panels level to reduce trip risk, while helping equalise load distribution and limit deflection. It is offered in galvanized or stainless steel for all grating types.

L-type metal fixing
An L-clip secures any grating type at an edge profile or against a wall. It is produced in galvanized or stainless steel.

Circular fixings
A circular fixing matches the clip contact to the panel’s mesh geometry.
Circular clip with plastic top — 19×19 mm
For 19×19 mm mesh, use the circular fixing with a plastic upper disc and a galvanized or stainless-steel lower part.

Circular metal clip — 25×50 mm
For 25×50 mm mesh, use the circular all-metal clip produced in galvanized or stainless steel.

Pedestal Systems
Pedestals separate the grating from the substrate, create under-floor space for drainage and cable routing, and maintain panel stability. Uses include terraces, parks, industrial areas and plants, pool surrounds and drilling rigs. The heavy-duty support feet provide resistance to water, mould and chemicals.
Rubber pedestals — 45–105 mm
Rubber pedestals provide 45–105 mm of elevation by stacking sleeves.

Polyamide pedestals — 50 mm
Polyamide pedestals provide 50 mm of elevation and can be used with all surface types. They are preferred where workplace safety and electrical isolation are important.

Plastic pedestals — 28–965 mm
Plastic pedestals provide 28–965 mm of adjustment by stacking sleeves. A base slope corrector adjusts gradients from 0% to 5%, and a range of fixing accessories supports different structural details.

Concise Installation-Selection Summary
This page focuses on selecting the fixing and pedestal. The installation itself must coordinate panel layout, clip positions, fixing sequence, cutting and edge control, followed by final inspection. The step-by-step method and checklist will be provided in the FRP Grating Installation and Fixing Guide.
Verify the Fixing and Pedestal Selection
Share the mesh, panel dimensions, supporting profile and span layout, required floor elevation, substrate slope and operating environment. The NA-ME Endüstri technical team will review the appropriate clip, material and pedestal system.
