FRP Composite Manhole and Channel Cover Applications
Real application photographs and project selection notes
NA-ME Endüstri composite-cover solutions include standard round manhole covers and project-specific square or rectangular manhole and channel covers. They are used at fuel stations, industrial plants, factories, service areas, pedestrian routes and infrastructure projects. The correct application is determined by verifying cover geometry and clear opening together with the frame/seating detail, locking requirement, load classes such as C250 or D400, span, chemical exposure, site installation and opening frequency for maintenance. These inputs must be reviewed as a connected system rather than selecting a cover from the sector name alone.

Application Area and Cover Geometry
| Application context | Geometry and principal decision |
|---|---|
| Fuel station and service area | Coordinate vehicle traffic, chemical exposure, C250/D400 requirement and locking |
| Industrial plant and factory | Verify clear opening, square/rectangular channel or manhole geometry, span and chemical environment |
| Pedestrian route, park and service area | Review road/pavement elevation, trip risk, locking and access frequency |
| Infrastructure, telecoms and water/sewerage | Coordinate round, square or rectangular opening, existing/new frame and maintenance access |
The application name does not determine the product by itself. Cover size, clear opening, frame geometry, locking, load class, clear span/support, chemical exposure and installation detail require project-specific technical verification.
Site-Installation Details to Verify
How should the concrete seat be prepared?
Cast the concrete seat to the frame’s outside dimensions, level and without surface irregularities. An uneven seat can allow the frame to move after installation.
How is the road or pavement elevation aligned?
Set the top of the frame level with the surrounding road, pavement or finished ground. Correct small elevation differences with mortar or shims below the frame. A cover that sits too high or low creates both a visual defect and a traffic-safety risk.
How is the frame anchored to concrete?
Secure the frame to the concrete seat with anchor bolts or embedded plates. Under heavy vehicle traffic, connecting the frame to the reinforcement provides additional security. Define the anchoring and rebar connection against the project load class.
Can an existing cast frame be retained?
Yes. When replacing an old cast-iron cover, the cover alone can be changed to composite without removing the frame if the existing frame is compatible. Send the cast frame’s internal dimensions and seating detail for a compatibility check. This is particularly useful where removing a road or pavement frame would be difficult.
Select the Cover for Maintenance Access
Use a hinged, easy-opening cover at frequently accessed points such as valve chambers and telecom distribution boxes. A locked, fixed system is sufficient for a manhole opened only occasionally. A cover can be produced for frequent opening when the hinge and lock are selected for that duty, so state access frequency during the project stage.
Application Gallery
The gallery below presents real NA-ME Endüstri cover applications in drinking-water and sewerage infrastructure, telecom manholes, treatment plants, parks and pedestrian areas, and roads with vehicle traffic. The photographs demonstrate site conditions; verify clear opening, geometry, frame, load class, span, chemical exposure and installation detail separately for every new project.
